Thoughts on using DCC for the first time user
by Jim Quarles
Things to know about DCC in general when you pick up the throttle the first time.
- Power to the track is turned on using a TWO STEP process. Simply flipping a switch on a power pack isn't enough now.
- Because each loco is independently controllable, they HAVE to be SELECTED or ACQUIRED before you can control them with a throttle.
- When you are done using a loco it's a good idea to RELEASE it so other operators can acquire it for their use.
- Multiple unit CONSISTS of locos are built using throttles, likewise they have to be broken down using a throttle.
- You can assign (or DISPATCH) a loco or consist of locos for use by other throttles.
